Dana Venable, LMHC, ATR

President | Licensed Mental Health Counselor | Art Therapist

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, registered Art Therapist, and an owner of Counseling Services of Greater Boston, LLC.  In addition to providing therapeutic services to the community, I oversee the operations of the agency as a whole while based out of the Wakefield location. With a decade of experience in community mental health clinics, I have worked with a variety of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, addiction and trauma. My goal as a therapist is to assist my clients in finding their true selves and to build distress tolerance. I support them to utilize creative and effective coping mechanisms in order to manage their mental health and improve life quality. My working style is heavily influenced by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, with a focus on mindfulness, meditation and creativity. Additionally, I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Drama Therapy, Bibliotherapy, and Attachment Theory.

My education includes a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art, and a MA in Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University.
