Crystal Montoya, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

As a licensed mental health counselor and a perinatal mental health clinician (currently pursuing certification), I am passionate about creating a safe, nurturing space where clients of all ages feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions, with special interest in autism spectrum disorder and the emotional complexities of the perinatal and postpartum period.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices—including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy—and enriched with expressive arts, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered care. I draw from attachment theory and strengths-based frameworks, and I often use humor and creativity to build trust and foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

With a background in therapeutic special education and specialized training in perinatal mental health, I understand the importance of meeting each person where they are. I believe deeply in the healing power of being truly heard, and I am committed to honoring each client’s story with empathy, curiosity, and respect. Whether working with individuals or families, I value the unique experiences each person brings into the room.

I also collaborate closely with families, schools, and community providers to support consistency and holistic care. Above all, I believe in the power of connection and the resilience of the human spirit. It’s my goal for every client to leave our sessions feeling heard, valued, and equipped with the tools to move forward with confidence and hope.
