Michaela Gile, MS (pre-licensed)

Pre-Licensed MS Level Counselor (LMHC track)

I am a pre-licensed mental health counselor with graduate degrees in Education, English, and Mental Health Counseling. For the past seventeen years, I’ve been teaching English at a high school for adolescents who struggle with substance use disorder and trauma-related mental health challenges. My work with high-risk youth has been a privilege that inspired me to become a mental health counselor.

My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I incorporate aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. While most of my experience has centered on adolescents with SUD, anxiety, depression, and C-PTSD, I am also eager to work with children and adults. I believe in the power of telling one’s story. Post-traumatic growth is both possible and attainable. I am committed to establishing a positive, authentic, and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients to facilitate healing and growth.

In addition, I am a trained Recovery Coach through CCAR. I have worked with my clients on life skills, relapse prevention, and recovery planning both online and in person. Some of my additional training includes Motivational Interviewing, Reiki I, trauma-informed yoga, and Collaborative Problem Solving.
