Saoirse Donegan, M.Ed

Pre-Licensed Counselor (LMHC track)

I am a pre-licensed mental health counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns. I support clients navigating many different diagnoses, with a particular focus on anxiety, trauma, depression, and life transitions. I take a client-centered approach to therapy and tailor treatment to meet each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals.

My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which I integrate with mindfulness and somatic-based approaches. I believe that healing happens not only through insight, but also through developing a deeper connection to the body and present-moment awareness. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

Before becoming a counselor, I worked as an elementary school teacher and spent over 15 years as a yoga and mindfulness instructor. These experiences continue to shape my approach, allowing me to bring a developmentally informed, grounded, and creative lens to my clinical work. I also draw from my background in the arts and extensive travel, which has deepened my appreciation for diverse perspectives and ways of understanding the world.

I am especially passionate about working with individuals from immigrant and multicultural communities and strive to provide care that is culturally responsive, inclusive, and respectful of each client’s lived experience. I value creating a therapeutic environment where all aspects of a person’s identity are welcomed and honored.

I have completed my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College, where my training emphasized trauma-informed care, human development, and integrative clinical approaches. Through my clinical experience in outpatient settings, I have supported clients in strengthening coping skills, improving emotional regulation, and processing complex life experiences.
