Veronica Yailaian, MS

Pre-Licensed MA Level Counselor (LMHC track)

I have earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Salem State University. Throughout my career I have had clinical experience working in educational, outpatient, crisis, and inpatient settings. In these areas I have supported children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a range of concerns.

I have experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, low self-esteem, life transitions, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as those in acute distress. My background in crisis and outpatient settings has strengthened my ability to remain calm, supportive, and solution-focused while helping clients navigate intense emotions. My work in special education has also provided me with a strong understanding of developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs across the lifespan.

I take an individualized and collaborative approach to therapy and primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build coping skills, and create meaningful change. I also incorporate person-centered and strengths-based approaches, emphasizing the importance of meeting clients where they are.

The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of the counseling process. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Together, we work to build insight, develop practical tools, and support progress toward each client’s personal goals.
